Smith Valve Color Coding
Smith Valve employs a unique color coding system to indicate materials selection for valve parts – body-bonnet packing, trim material and end cap style.
HANDWHEELS: For Smith gate and globe valves, the handwheel color indicates body-bonnet material or special packing. Handwheels are powder coated.
NAMEPLATES & END CAPS: For Smith gate, globe and check valves, the nameplate color indicates the trim material used. Nameplates are stainless steel. Additionally, valves with socket weld ends have red end caps , whereas valves with threaded ends have blue end caps.
